Helmdon Sawmills invested in a Teletruk 30D 4x4 to cope with gradients on site.
Owner Steve Blackwell was so impressed he decided to never go back to using conventional
Great use is made of the 111 degrees of fork carriage rotation. When tilted back
the forks will safely retain cut logs ready for delivery to the sawmill conveyor.
Then, at the start of the process inside the mill, controlled forwards tilt accurately
places logs on the conveyor line. Conventional forklifts with a vertical mast and
restricted tilt capability cannot do this.
Helmdon's most recent Teletruk is a TLT35D4x4 which went into service in January
2010 . The business also runs other JCB machines; a 541-70 Loadall, JS220 excavator,
and a 436 Loading Shovel.
